Methodology
How Getref checks exchange terms: sources for every number, verification dates and how the savings calculator works.
Every number on Getref about an exchange — a fee, a rebate share, a bonus — is stored with its origin, a source link and the date it was checked.
Where the numbers come from
- Verified — checked against the exchange's official fee or promotion page; the source and the date are shown next to the number.
- Example rate — used only inside the calculator to show how the arithmetic works, with a label.
A verified number that has not been re-checked for a while stops being shown until it is confirmed again; bonus conditions are re-checked more often, because promotions change weekly.
How the calculator works
The calculator multiplies your monthly trading volume by the exchange's fee to get the fee you pay, then applies the rebate share to show the part returned. It is an estimate: the real result depends on your fee tier, the market, the order type and the exchange's own rules.
How exchanges are ordered
The comparison uses the same rules for every exchange. Being a partner does not move an exchange up. See also the editorial policy and about Getref.
