What does the Bybit referral code give?

The code GETREF ties a new Bybit account to Getref's partner link. In return the offer lists two things: a fee rebate of 20%verified Oct 14 and a welcome bonus of up to up to 5,000 USDTverified Oct 14.

The rebate is a share of the trading fees you pay, returned by the exchange. It lowers your costs; it does not make trading profitable. The bonus is always "up to" that amount and depends on conditions set by Bybit: what you deposit or trade, by when, and who is excluded. We could not verify a full list of those conditions, so read them on the Bybit exchange page at Getref and in Bybit's own terms before you rely on the figure.

Opening an account through Getref also earns you Getref Rewards points, which are Getref's own reward and never money. More on that on the tasks page.

Disclosure: this is a partner link. Getref may earn a commission from Bybit when you open an account through it, and this does not change your terms on the exchange.

Bybit's own referral programme is a different thing

Bybit runs its own referrer and referee programme, with its own reward amounts and conditions. It is described in the Bybit Help Center referral FAQ and in Bybit Learn. Those figures do not belong to the Getref offer, and we do not mix them here. If another site shows different numbers next to a Bybit code, it is usually describing a different offer or a different programme.

Who can use the Bybit referral code, and where?

The code is meant for new accounts. It is entered while you register, and in general it cannot be added to an account that already exists. If you are unsure whether your account counts as new, read the guide on forgetting a referral code before you do anything.

Availability depends on your country, and Bybit decides it. We do not guess a country list. Check Bybit's own terms in the referral program FAQ and the registration page for your region.

Bybit EU is a separate product from Bybit Global. Its rewards differ, and this offer is written for the global exchange. Identity verification (KYC) may be required before you can deposit, trade or withdraw, depending on your country and Bybit's rules at the time.

How do I enter the Bybit referral code at sign-up?

You only need a few minutes, but the order matters. The code has to be in place before you finish creating the account.

  1. Open Bybit through the partner link on the Getref Bybit page or the offer card above, not through a saved bookmark or a search ad.
  2. On the registration form, look for the referral code field. If it is empty, type GETREF yourself; if it is filled in, check that it matches.
  3. Finish sign-up and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for the account.
  4. Complete identity verification (KYC) if Bybit asks for it in your region.
  5. Read the bonus conditions on the exchange, then do only what they require, before their deadlines.
  6. Copy your UID (the Bybit account number) and submit it on the Getref tasks page to claim Getref Rewards points.

Common mistake: registering first and looking for the code later. Another is typing a code from a random coupon site, which may attach a different offer to your account.

What is the effective fee after the Bybit rebate?

The effective fee is what you pay after the rebate comes back. Here is the data we hold for the spot offer. The fees are for the Regular Userverified Oct 14 level and will change if you move to a higher VIP tier.

ItemValue
Spot maker fee0.1%verified Oct 14
Spot taker fee0.1%verified Oct 14
Rebate share20%verified Oct 14
Rebate capto be confirmed
Rebate periodto be confirmed

Futures and perpetual contract fees are not confirmed in our data, so we do not state them. Check them on Bybit before you trade derivatives. The cap and the period matter: a rebate that ends or stops at a limit changes the saving you can expect.

What if I forgot to enter the code, and how do I check the rebate arrives?

If the account is already created without the code, assume it cannot be added. Ask Bybit support whether your case is an exception, and read our forgotten referral code guide. Do not open a second account to get around this: exchanges usually forbid duplicate accounts.

Our catalog lists 14 days as a recovery window for a missing code. We found no Bybit page that confirms such a window, so do not plan around it. The catalog also holds a review-time figure for Bybit, counted in hours: 48. Read it as a Getref catalog value, not as a Bybit promise.

To check that the rebate is working:

  • Trade a small amount and compare the fee you were charged with the standard fee for your level.
  • Look at the exchange's own fee or reward records, where it shows them. Rebate payments appear in your Bybit account, not at Getref.
  • Keep the date you registered, the code you entered and your UID. If the rebate is missing, send these to Bybit support first.

Getref has no access to your Bybit account and does not see your trades. The partner cabinet shows only that an account was opened through Getref's link, and we ask only for the UID. Bybit calculates and pays the rebate; Getref pays only its own points.

Referral code, rebate, cashback and sign-up bonus: what is the difference?

The words get mixed up on code pages, and the mix-up is where wrong expectations start.

TermWhat it isWho pays
Referral codeThe text entered at sign-up that links your account to a partnerNobody; it is only a link
Fee rebateA share of your trading fees returnedThe exchange
CashbackMoney back on a purchase or spending, a different mechanismDepends on the programme
Sign-up bonusA reward "up to" an amount, with conditionsThe exchange
Getref Rewards pointsGetref's own reward for opening an accountGetref

A fee discount is not cashback, even if a site calls it that. See rebate vs cashback vs welcome bonus for the longer version.

Who should look at another exchange instead?

Bybit suits people who mainly trade spot and want a lower effective fee through a rebate. It is less suitable in these cases:

  • You live in a country where Bybit Global is not available to you, or you can only use Bybit EU, which has different rewards.
  • You plan to trade mostly futures. Our futures fee data is not confirmed, so you cannot work out the saving from this page.
  • Your account already exists and you cannot link a code, so the offer does not apply.
  • You want a rebate whose cap and period are already confirmed, since the cap and period for Bybit are still to be confirmed in our data.

We do earn a commission through partner links on several exchanges, so compare on the numbers, not on our word. See Bybit vs KuCoin and Binance vs Bybit, and read our methodology to see where each number comes from.
