KuCoin Referral Code: What It Gives and How to Use It
The KuCoin referral code is GETREF, entered in the referral field when you open a new account. It is tied to a fee rebate that KuCoin calculates and pays. A rebate lowers your costs; it does not make trading profitable. Below: the conditions, a forgotten-code fix, and how to check it arrives.

Search results for this query show a different code and a different promise on every page. Here there is one code, and each number is a token that shows its verified date and source, or says "to be confirmed". Where KuCoin's own pages did not give us an answer, we say so instead of guessing.
What does the KuCoin referral code give you?
The code links a new account to a partner link. In return the account can receive a fee rebate: KuCoin returns part of the trading fees you pay. The exchange calculates and pays it. Getref neither sees nor pays it.
A rebate is not the same thing as a fee discount, cashback or a welcome bonus. If the terms blur these, read our guide to rebate, cashback and welcome bonus and the basics in what a fee rebate is.
Here is what Getref's catalog holds for KuCoin today:
| Item | Value in the catalog |
|---|---|
| Referral code | GETREF |
| Rebate share of fees | 60%verified Oct 2 |
| Welcome bonus, up to | up to 10,650 USDTverified Oct 11 |
| Spot maker fee | 0.1%verified Oct 11 |
| Spot taker fee | 0.1%verified Oct 11 |
| Fee level used | VIP 0verified Oct 11 |
| Futures maker fee | to be confirmed |
| Futures taker fee | to be confirmed |
| Rebate cap | to be confirmed |
| Rebate period | to be confirmed |
Two cautions apply. First, we could not match the rebate share and the bonus amount to a statement on KuCoin's public referral page, so do not treat them as KuCoin's official promise. Check what your own account shows. Second, the bonus is only ever "up to" an amount, and we could not confirm its conditions (what to deposit or trade, by when, for whom). Read them on kucoin.com before you count on it.
Older KuCoin announcements, such as Refer Friends & Earn Cash and the referral program upgrade, describe campaigns we did not check as current. They may have expired.
How do you enter the KuCoin referral code at sign-up?
You enter it while creating the account, in the referral or invite code field. Using the partner link fills the field for you.
Getref may earn a commission from KuCoin if you open an account through its links. This does not change your terms on the exchange.
- Open the sign-up page through the KuCoin offer card above, or go to kucoin.com and start registration.
- Enter your email or phone number and a password.
- Find the referral or invite code field. If it is empty, type GETREF exactly as shown.
- Finish the confirmation step and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA).
- Complete identity verification (KYC) if the exchange asks for it for the features you want.
- Copy your UID from the account profile. You will need it if you want Getref's points.
Getref Rewards are Getref's own points, not money and not a KuCoin payout. The tasks page explains how to submit your UID, and the rewards page explains what the points are. The exchange's partner cabinet shows Getref only that an account was opened through the link, and Getref asks only for the UID. Our review time for a submitted UID is 48.
What if you forgot to enter the code?
The key question is whether KuCoin lets you add or change a referral code after the account exists. We did not find a statement on that in the sources we checked, so we do not claim either answer. KuCoin's Referral Program FAQ is the place to look, and your account's support chat is the fastest way to ask.
If KuCoin does allow a late fix, the window for it (to be confirmed) matters, so ask early. Our forgot-referral-code guide lists the steps to try, in order, and what to do if the answer is no.
Do not open a second account to "redo" the sign-up. Exchanges usually forbid duplicate accounts, and you could lose access to the first one.
How do you check that the rebate arrives?
You can check this only in your KuCoin account, because KuCoin pays the rebate and Getref does not see your trades. Do this:
- Before trading, look in your account for a referral or invite code attached to it. Take a screenshot if the page shows one.
- Place a small spot trade and note the fee charged in the order history.
- Look in the fee and rewards sections of your account for a rebate line or a note about it. Compare it with the fee you noted.
- If nothing shows up after the exchange's stated payout schedule, contact KuCoin support with your UID and the date of the trade.
A rebate may be credited later or in a separate record from the trade, so a missing line on day one is not proof of a problem. The rebate cap (to be confirmed) and the rebate period (to be confirmed) decide how long and how much you can receive. Read both on KuCoin's pages before you rely on the number.
Who can't use the code, and which countries are excluded?
KuCoin sets the eligibility rules, and they change. We do not list restricted countries or excluded account types from memory. The exchange's referral page and its Referral Program FAQ are the sources to read. Use the exchange's own list of restricted jurisdictions, linked from kucoin.com, rather than a third-party list.
We also could not confirm whether KYC affects the rebate, or whether the rebate is "lifetime". Do not assume either. The period shown above is to be confirmed, and it is only as reliable as its verification date.
What does the effective fee look like after the rebate?
The effective fee is the fee you pay after the rebate comes back. The headline fee on its own tells you little, because the rebate changes the real cost.

Futures fees are separate from spot fees. The futures maker fee is to be confirmed and the taker fee is to be confirmed. We do not know whether futures trades count toward the rebate, so check that before you plan around it.
Who should look at another exchange instead?
The code suits someone who wants to trade spot on KuCoin and will check the rebate in their own account. It is a poor fit in these cases:
- You care about a specific bonus amount. KuCoin's conditions for it are unconfirmed here, so another exchange with clearly stated terms may suit you better.
- You trade mostly futures. The futures fees are unconfirmed in our catalog, and the rebate's treatment of futures is unknown.
- Your country is on KuCoin's restricted list.
- You need to attach a code after the fact and cannot confirm that KuCoin allows it.

Frequently asked questions
Is the KuCoin referral code the same for everyone?
No. Each partner has their own code and link, and the terms behind them can differ. Getref shows one code with a verified date and source. If another site shows a different code, you are looking at a different partner's offer.
Can I add a KuCoin invite code after sign-up?
We could not confirm this in the sources we checked, so we do not claim yes or no. Read KuCoin's Referral Program FAQ and ask KuCoin support. Our forgot-referral-code guide covers the steps.
Does KYC matter for the referral rebate?
We did not find a clear KuCoin statement on this. KYC may still be needed for other account features, so check the eligibility rules on KuCoin's referral page and FAQ before you assume anything.
Is the KuCoin rebate lifetime?
We could not confirm that. The rebate period in our catalog is shown with its own verification status, and it may read "to be confirmed". Check the period in your account or on KuCoin's pages.
Do futures trades count toward the rebate?
We could not confirm this either. Spot and futures fees are separate, and the futures fee values in our catalog are not verified yet. Ask KuCoin before you plan around futures volume.
Is a fee rebate the same as cashback or a sign-up bonus?
No. A rebate returns part of the trading fees you pay, a cashback is a separate payback, and a welcome bonus is an up-to amount with conditions. The exchange pays all three, and Getref's own points are none of them.
