Gate referral code: what it gives and how to use it
The Gate referral code is GETREFFF. Entered at sign-up, it ties your account to a spot fee rebate of 20%verified Oct 13, which Gate calculates and pays. The welcome bonus is a separate, task-based reward of up to up to 10,125 USDTverified Oct 14, and it comes with conditions.

What does the Gate referral code give you?
The code does one job: it links a new Gate account to a partner link, so the account can receive a fee rebate. Most affiliate pages blur three different things together. Keep them apart:
| Item | What it is | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Referral (invite) code GETREFFF | Typed at sign-up; it identifies the partner link | Nothing by itself |
| Fee rebate: 20%verified Oct 13 | A share of the spot trading fees you pay, returned to you | Gate |
| Welcome bonus: up to up to 10,125 USDTverified Oct 14 | Task-based rewards with their own conditions | Gate |
| Getref Rewards points | Getref's own reward for an account opened through its link | Getref (points only, never money) |
The figures above come from Getref's checked catalog. For the program itself, Getref relied on Gate's global referral program page and Gate's news post on its VIP referral program with fee rebate. Getref could not confirm Gate's full terms line by line, so the sections below say which numbers are still open.
A rebate lowers what trading costs you. It does not make trading profitable. If the terms rebate, cashback and bonus are blurry, read rebate vs cashback vs welcome bonus and what a fee rebate is.
Is the Gate sign-up bonus really as big as the headline says?
The headline is a ceiling, not a payout at registration. The catalog lists the bonus as up to up to 10,125 USDTverified Oct 14, and a bonus like that is earned by completing tasks: what to deposit or trade, by when, and which accounts are excluded. Those conditions sit on Gate's own promotion pages and can change.
Affiliate pages often round the figure up or mix it with other programs. Two cases to keep out of your expectations:
- Gate US is a separate entity. It has its own referral page with its own voucher terms and tasks. Do not apply them to the global offer, or the other way round.
- The inviter's commission is not your discount. What an affiliate earns on your trades is a different number from what you receive.
Getref may earn a commission from Gate when you open an account through its links; this does not change your terms. The card below shows the current offer row:
How do you enter the Gate invite code at sign-up?
Gate's sign-up form has a field for an invite or referral code. The code has to be in place when the account is created, because codes usually cannot be added afterwards.
- Open Gate's sign-up page from a partner link, such as the button on the offer card above, or go to gate.com directly.
- Register with your email or phone number and set a strong password.
- In the invite or referral code field, enter GETREFFF. If the field is already filled by the link, check that it matches.
- Complete the verification steps Gate asks for (KYC where required) and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA).
- Copy your UID from your Gate profile. To claim Getref Rewards points, submit the UID on the Getref tasks page.
Getref has no access to your Gate account and does not see your trades. The partner cabinet only shows that an account was opened through Getref's link, which is why Getref asks only for the UID.
Country availability changes, and Getref does not guess it. Check Gate's own list of supported and restricted regions, reachable from gate.com, before you register.
What if you forgot the Gate referral code?
Do not open a second account to fix it. Duplicate accounts can breach an exchange's terms and put your main account at risk.
Instead, contact Gate support and ask whether a code can still be linked to your account. Whether Gate allows this at all, and the length of any window, is not confirmed: the recovery window is to be confirmed. Treat it as unknown until Gate's support confirms it in writing. The general steps are in what to do if you forgot the referral code.
How do you check that the Gate rebate arrives?
Check in your own Gate account, not on a third-party page. Getref cannot see your rebates, because Gate calculates and pays them.
- Make a small spot trade after sign-up.
- Open your trading fee or order history in Gate and note the fee charged on that trade.
- Look in Gate's rebate or referral records for a matching return of part of that fee.
- If nothing appears after the payout period Gate states, send Gate support your UID and the date you registered.
Two details decide how long the rebate lasts, and neither is confirmed yet:
| Condition | Value |
|---|---|
| Rebate cap | to be confirmed |
| Rebate period | to be confirmed |
Claims of a rebate "for life" on affiliate pages are not backed by the sources Getref could confirm.
What is the effective Gate fee after the rebate?
The effective fee is what you pay after the rebate. For spot trading at the starting tier, VIP 0verified Oct 14, the table below shows the fee before and after the rebate. The calculator beneath it lets you enter your own volume.

The catalog lists these inputs:
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Spot maker fee (limit orders that add to the order book) | 0.1%verified Oct 14 |
| Spot taker fee (orders that fill at once) | 0.1%verified Oct 14 |
| Rebate share | 20%verified Oct 13 |
| Futures maker fee | to be confirmed |
| Futures taker fee | to be confirmed |
Futures fees are not verified yet, so do not assume the spot numbers apply to derivatives. For the method, see how to calculate trading fee savings and maker vs taker fees.
Who should use Gate, and who should look at other exchanges?
Gate suits spot traders who want to see the fee after the rebate and are happy to read the bonus conditions before relying on them. It fits less well in these cases:
- You live in the US. Gate US is a separate entity with different terms, so check its own page first.
- You mainly trade futures. The futures fees and the rebate terms for derivatives are not confirmed here.
- You need a known rebate period or cap. Both are still to be confirmed, so an exchange with verified values may suit you better.
To weigh the alternatives, see Gate vs Bybit and Gate vs KuCoin, or open the full Gate exchange page. Getref's sourcing rules are on the methodology page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add a Gate referral code after I register?
Referral codes usually have to be entered at sign-up, and Getref could not confirm that Gate offers a later window. Ask Gate support in writing before you rely on one, and do not open a second account.
Is a Gate fee rebate the same as cashback?
No. A fee rebate returns part of the trading fees you paid, while cashback is a different kind of reward. Check which one Gate's own page names before comparing offers.
Does the Gate referral code work in the US?
Do not assume it does. Gate US is a separate entity with its own referral page and voucher terms, so check Gate's own lists of supported and restricted regions before registering.
Why do other sites show different Gate codes and rebate percentages?
Each affiliate has its own code, and old promotions stay online after they end. Some pages also show the inviter's commission as if it were the new user's discount. Getref shows a checked value with its verified date and source.
Does the rebate apply to futures trading on Gate?
Getref could not confirm futures fees or how the rebate applies to derivatives. Check Gate's rebate terms before assuming it does, and remember that futures carry extra risk.
Who pays the rebate, Gate or Getref?
Gate calculates and pays the rebate and any bonus. Getref neither sees nor pays them, and it pays only its own Getref Rewards points.
